Building Enclosure Commissioning

Gale is providing building enclosure commissioning for a new high-tech LEED® Platinum facility to house the University of Baltimore School of Law . The facility, opened in 2013, is expected to be an architectural landmark for central Baltimore as it incorporates state-of-the-art facade and roof elements.
Gale’s services include:
- Providing assistance with Owner’s Project Requirements, reviewing shop drawings and submittals related to building enclosure
- Reviewing mock-up to verify design intent is met and water and air tightness of exterior enclosure is as specified
- Providing consultation during design and construction and reviewing Contractor’s quality assurance/quality control program
- Attending building enclosure pre-installation meetings, performing periodic onsite observations of the Contractor’s work for quality assurance during installation of building enclosure components, and attending progress meetings
- Observing and providing reports on various testing procedures being performed by independent outside testing agency on exterior building “skin”
- Reviewing building enclosure systems manual
- Providing a Building Enclosure Commissioning report highlighting system maintainability expectations, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability goals and warranty information
