Building Enclosure Commissioning Services

The State of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut are collaborating in the construction of Jackson Laboratory, a new, state-of-the-art 189,000 sf facility dedicated to the research of genomic medicine. Gale provided the following building enclosure commissioning services:
- Peer review of Design Development and Construction Documents (plans and specifications) related to the building enclosure
- Building enclosure engineering analyses of specific enclosure components including WUFI and THERM
- Review of the sub contractor shop drawings for all aspects of the building enclosure including foundation and blind side slab waterproofing, air/vapor barrier systems, flashings, curtain walls, insulated metal wall panels, interlocking zinc metal wall panels, stone masonry assemblies, thermoplastic (PVC) and standing seam zinc roofing
- Responses to Requests for Information and other building enclosure consulting services including participation in mock-up reviews and sub contractor pre-installation coordination meetings
- Periodic construction period monitoring for exterior enclosure components
- Observation of on-site mockup testing of enclosure components including air/vapor barriers, waterproofing, glazings and curtain walls
