UMass Lowell Pulichino Tong Business Center

A new building to house the School of Business will serve UMass Lowell’s growing population of students.  The building was designed by Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc., and will feature a four-story atrium overlooking an outdoor plaza in the heart of what is now known as the North Campus Innovation District.  Gale provided assistance during the design and construction phases with commissioning the building enclosure, including the following services:

  • Peer reviews of plans, details, and technical specifications related to the exterior building enclosure, including roofs, walls, windows, curtain walls, air barriers, exterior doors, and waterproofing components
  • Review of product submittals, manufacturers’ shop drawings, mock-ups, project schedule, and sequencing to determine if they follow specifications contained in the construction documents
  • Monitoring building enclosure construction through periodic site visits, on-site meetings, and providing written reports
  • Quality assurance regarding the assembly and testing of mock-ups, as well as performing field tests on “in-place” assemblies
