Turners Falls Municipal Airport: SRE Equipment Acquisition
The Challenge
The Airport did not own any snow removal equipment and instead relied upon local contractors and Town assistance for snow removal.
Gale’s Services
- Assisted the Airport in preparing a funding justification in accordance with FAA Advisory Circular 150/5220-20A for the purchase of new snow removal equipment with three (3) attachments for FAA and MassDOT approvals
- Coordinated with vendors and suppliers to obtain information on available equipment to comply with Buy American standards
- Prepared technical specifications for the following:
- Carrier vehicle: dump truck
- Attachment: power reversible high-speed plow
- Attachment: ramp plow
- Attachment: power sweeper
- Provided bidding services including advertising, distribution, outreach to potential bidders, management of bid opening, bid review, and award recommendation
- Provided grant administration services including preparation of grant applications, reimbursement requests, annual financial reports, and closeout documentation
