Building Enclosure Commissioning

Why did you choose this career? My mother is a Mechanical Drafter and my father was a CNC fabricator. I have always enjoyed building things with my hands, taking things apart and seeing how they work. I signed up for CAD classes in high school and later enrolled at the New England Institute of Technology to major in Architecture and Building Engineering Technologies. My knowledge of building construction and interest in building science has brought me to where I am today.

What is your favorite part of your job? I enjoy that I am involved with several aspects of the building industry in the course of a week. I could be testing window assemblies one day, monitoring the installation of new roofing systems the next day and investigating water infiltration into an existing occupied building at the end of the week.

Who are you outside of Gale? My girlfriend and daughter are my world and I do what I can to keep them happy and safe. I am a member and former President of a local Jeep Club and have been working the last two years to rebuild a 1991 Jeep Wrangler. I play in a coed outdoor recreational soccer league, in which we won the playoffs last season. I also help coach my daughter’s soccer team. In our spare time, our family enjoys fishing, hiking and a good old-fashioned sketchy carnival ride.

Fun Fact: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only bring 3 things, what would they be? A picture of my girlfriend and daughter, a Swiss army knife and the Grateful Dead “Without a Net” on vinyl.
