Derek Wiaderski

Senior Staff Designer

Darjusz (Derick) Wiaderski, RRO, LEED® AP

Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and Building Engineering Technologies in 2001, Derick has been in the building enclosure sector of the building industry for over 20 years. Starting out in the Engineering Department at a cladding manufacturing facility, he was introduced to the concepts of thermal efficiency, sustainability, and thermal dynamic through wall assemblies.

With that knowledge, Derick transitioned to the building enclosure consultant industry where he continued to expand his knowledge of construction methods as well as the evaluation testing of enclosure systems. His current responsibilities include fenestration testing, forensic leak testing, building enclosure evaluations, infrared thermography and whole building air leakage testing.

What is your favorite part of your job?

From solving prematurely deteriorating building enclosure conditions to evaluating existing buildings for performance and construction industry standards, the most enjoyable part of my job is the variety of work that I get to be a part of.

Who are you outside of Gale?

I am the father of a feisty 11-year-old daughter who enjoys horseback riding. I’m an avid lover of hiking, fishing, and camping. I’m involved in an Offroad Jeep Club that not only participates in trial rides but is heavily active in the preservation of land for all public use as well as educating the community about responsible trail riding practices. I enjoy tinkering with engines and just about anything mechanical. I spent the last few years rebuilding an offroad vehicle as well as renovating my home.
